Underground Dog Fences and Hidden Dog Fences

These fences have become very popular in fence-restricted neighborhoods and rural areas where large tracts of unfenced land and rugged features make it impractical to build a physical fence.

The dog wears a collar with both sound and correction built into it.  When he gets close to the boundary wire, his collar beeps to warn him not to travel further in that direction.  If he transgresses the boundary, he gets a correction that sends him back inside his boundaries.

Most of the fences delineate their boundaries by means of a wire that encircles the area to be enclosed.  The newer WIRELESS versions use a small radio transmitter that "talks" to the dog's collar receiver and tells him when he has left the area prescribed by the transmitter signal.
